After having worked with the OU PTAC counselors for over 1.5 years, SavKon Construction, LLC recently won a federal contract. The contract is worth $19,075 and provides renovation services with the Chillicothe Historical National Museum and started this August.

SavKon Construction is a Columbus-based company that specializes in acoustic ceilings, demolition, drywall, flooring, and framing, among others. It is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned and Woman Owned Small Business (SDVOSB/WOSB), with a certification in Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity (EDGE) programs.

Mrs. Sheryl Clark Marrero, the owner of SavKon Construction, approached OU PTAC counselors as early as November 2016. They assisted her with verification in the VA database, updating her company’s capability statement, and establish the BidMatch search profile for opportunities. This year she came back to PTAC for help updating the federal System for Award Management (SAM) registration which was expiring in August and necessary for their awarded federal contract

It is always important for companies like SavKon Construction to keep their SAM registration updated.
